About This Certification

When I was a Partner at the Management Center, and for the first 18 months of serving as CEO of Breaker28, I did a ton of work with HR leaders that were increasingly responsible for DEI for their organization. Many brought strong skills and instincts to the work, but hadn't formally "trained" in an integrated way on DEI in their HR leadership roles.

This certification focuses on three areas of mastery needed to infuse DEI into your organization as a leader of the HR function:

  • Influencing Mastery - Driving organizational change with and without formal power

  • H.E.A.R.T. Mastery - Content expertise in each of our H.E.A.R.T. domains appropriate to the HR Executive Level

  • Management Tier Mastery - Building an end-to-end Management accountability system that ensures equitable and inclusive management throughout the organization.

Each cohort is capped at 10 participants to allow for free sharing and interactive activities and includes pre-work and a practical capstone that will lead to meaningful change in your organization around a dimension of equity or inclusion.

Who It's For

This certification is ideal for Executive-level HR leaders or Executives managing large teams and divisions in their organization. Mid-level HR leaders or other Middle Managers would be better suited by the Managers-level certification.

Practical Benefits to You and Your Organization

  • Equipping you with the knowledge to more effectively advance your organization’s DEI goals, influence behavior at the manager level and above, and speak with mastery about where the organization is and what needs to change.

  • Providing you access to practical tools you can use right away, like talking points for challenging DEI conversations, manager training resources, and rubrics to assess manager readiness on DEI issues.

  • Providing you access to organizational best practices from across the sector, including from your cohort mates, about how they are tackling similar challenges in their organizations.

  • Co-creating concrete strategies with you and your cohort-mates to support retention and maximize the contribution of BIPOC staff, LGBTQIA+ staff, neurodivergent staff and others at the margins.
